John has been in the thoroughbred business since 1987 and has been a licensed trainer since 1991. He is also an owner and breeder and an avid supporter of the Illinois Breeding Program. In his profession away from the track, he works for the Illinois Department of Agriculture and is the Chairman of Du Quoin State Bank and has been a Board Member there for over 25 years. John has served on the HBPA Board of Directors for the past 7 years and sits on the Finance Committee.
