Jareth Osborne was our special guest at the track for live racing on Tuesday July 30th
2024. Jareth is an awesome 12 year old boy who has Autism. He loves Horses, Legos and swimming. He
is entering 7th grade this year and wants to be a jockey more than anything when he grows up! He
lives in Peoria with his parents and is great in helping out in the Kindergarten classroom in Church on
Sunday.
On his day he will be accompanied by Jim Watkins, President of the Illinois HBPA for a “behind the
scenes” look and tour of everything that goes into race day. Meeting some jockeys and horses are just
a few of the surprises in store. Also, he will be in the Winners Circle for a “trophy race” for the winner
of race 1 and his picture taken with the winning horse, jockey and trainer.
“We want to show Jareth and others to always pursue your dreams and passions no matter what
adversities you have in life” Said Jim Watkins President of the Illinois HBPA. “This day will keep his
spirit brighter than ever before!”
