H.B.P.A./Fairmount Park Horse Racing For The Cure

This coming Saturday night June 9th the H.B.P.A. along with Fairmount Park will feature the Susan G. Komen Foundation . The co-chairs from Komen St. Louis will be on hand and will be interviewed by track announcer John Scully during the races. Also in attendance will be the Il. Breast & Cervical Cancer Program-Start Now, Madison County Health Dept., St. Clair County Health Dept. So. Il. Health Care Foundation, Stand Against Cancer, and Gateway to Hope. These groups will be handing out information for uninsured women. Please take advantage of these services. They will be located just inside the front entrance starting at 7 pm. The pony horses will be wearing pink bandages and their riders in pink shirts with the event logo on the back. The same shirts will be for sale as well as special Komen key chains hand made by especially for us by Stephanie Bales. Other vendors will be selling various items and a portion of everything sold will go to the Komen Foundation. The post parade will be led by a big beautiful grey horse decked out in pink. The horse, Woody Norwood was owned by Molly Norwood who is a cancer survivor. For reservations call Nikki at 618-345-4300 ext.110
