Budweiser Mile

July 30th, 2012 | written by Lanny Brooks

Saturday July 28th started off with hall of fame Jay Randolph signing his bobble head and giving the proceeds to the R.A.C.E. program. Jay is a St. Louis treasure and we appreciate all he does for us. We were also lucky to have a Budweiser Clydesdale in attendance. He was a big hit and people marveled at not only his size, but how gentle he was. The night was capped off by the running of the first Budweiser Mile for Illinois 3 year olds. The race was won by Luv Bandit who was bred, owned and trained by Tom Dorris. He won in convincing style by just over 10 links. Second and third was taken by the Eddie Essenpreis trained Six Gun Royal and Roski. The crowd was great as was the handle.
